Chocolate & Memories

Good evening everyone! Thank you as always for following along with our journey.

When the State Fair of Texas came to a close this evening, this marked the first time in the last five years that Shana and I were not able to attend. Luckily, we have so many great memories from years past, we can sit back and enjoy seeing all the photos from friends and family who were able to attend.

A candid shot from our anniversary photo shoot in 2015

We were so fortunate to have professional photos taken by our great friend Laura Miller back in 2015 to celebrate our wedding anniversary in one of my favorite places. If anyone in the Dallas metroplex is in need of a friendly photographer who can capture any couple, check out Laura Miller Photos!

As a surprise for me, Shana actually planned her first trip to Hershey Park this weekend, so we still ended up being able to eat some great fair treats. I'm so thankful that she took the time to set the trip up and bring the fair experience here in Pennsylvania. More importantly, we both had a great time with friends zipping from roller coaster to roller coaster throughout the park. It's been many years since I've been in the park so it was fun to see all the new rides added. They even have a roller coaster which has a true 90 degree ascent! A sight to be seen for sure.

A Halloween classic
Trick or treating throughout the park for kids, and plenty of rides for all ages

Despite some chilly winds, the sun was out for most of the day making for a great time. The rain even managed to hold off until we were safely in our car headed home.

The day in the park spent with friends was a perfect cap to the weekend, even if we did end up waiting in line for 45 minutes to grab some fresh kettle corn on the way out! Seeing all of the kids light up with pure joy from the trick or treating and the rides, just reinforces our dedication to one day become parents through the open adoption process. Though the wait is hard, the thought of being able to bring our children along on one of these weekend adventures warms my heart.

All our love,
Seth and Shana

P.S. - Halloween decorations for this year are coming along well. I've picked up some new skills in video effects as well which may come in hand the next time we update our adoption profile video. You can see the current video here: Our Lifetime Adoption Digital Profile

These three friendly ghosts will enjoy greeting trick or treaters in our front and help in directing people to our back patio. We will have three goofy pumpkins in the side yard, and then music videos will be playing on the garage to bring the fun. This year, in addition to candy, we've joined the Teal Pumpkin Project to provide allergen free gifts to kids as well. We will be making glow in the dark slime and have a few other surprises for anyone stopping by this Halloween night. See you then!

  1. Really early into my pregnancy, but I am loving you guys. Still alot on my mind, but I think adoption just might be my way to go. It's so crazy I actually adopted a then 10 year old, now look where I'm at. I'm nervous and filled with so many emotions, I'm 6 weeks now. I stared this page, give me until about 4 months, if you guys are still available, and everything seems fine with the baby, I would love to discuss further details..

    1. Hi and thank you so much for your kind words! It is so sweet to know that your life was previously blessed by adoption. We never knew how many people around us were also touched by adoption until we started our journey. We pray that you and your baby are healthy, happy, and safe during this time. If you want to connect with us at a later date, please feel free to reach back out to us, as we will be here. All of our very best, Shana and Seth.
