1,216 Days and a Pandemic...

Hi everyone!

It's been some time since we've updated our blog. Sorry about that. Things have been extremely busy! Lucas has been growing and learning just about every day, however, being stuck in a pandemic hasn't made this any easier. 😀 Seth and I have been working from home, balancing Lucas' schedule and snuggle/play times, and trying to stay sane, safe, and healthy. To be honest, I think we really got this down to a science at this point!

First and foremost, we want to thank everyone who has been following our journey for so long (1,216 days to be exact) and providing us support. Secondly, we want to let everyone know that this will probably be our last post here on our blog. Don't be too sad though, we have amazing news!! This morning, at 9:45am, we met with our lawyer, our case worker, and Judge Weilheimer of Montgomery County Courts via Zoom conferencing to finalize Lucas' adoption! After 1,216 days of waiting and 276 days since Lucas was born, he is officially a Hogg! We brought home Baby Hogg and it's official!

Yay! Lucas is officially a Hogg!
Yay! Lucas is officially a Hogg!

We weren't certain when we would be able to finalize since the courts have been technically closed since March due to the pandemic. We were almost convinced that it wouldn't happen until next year. But, our adoption agency worked incredibly hard to make this happen for us. We are so lucky and grateful. I really don't have any words - we are so happy!

Lucas is so lucky to have so many people who love him so much. His tummy mommy is an amazing woman and we love being able to video chat with her so that Lucas will always have her in his life. We can't wait until the virus subsides and we can meet with her in person. (So, please, wear a mask guys. It sucks, but, no one wants to either get sick, or be stuck in quarantine for another year. This has been my public service announcement, thanks for listening 😁).

Our little family is complete. Lucas is the brightest spot in our lives and we have learned so much from him. We couldn't live without him and we can't wait to continue to watch him grow and learn.
