It's the most wonderful time of the year!

It is absolutely the most wonderful time of the year - and I don't mean Christmas. (I swear I'm not one of those "I-have-a-Christmas-countdown-before-Halloween" people...honest.) It's the State Fair of Texas season! When Seth and I used to live in Dallas, we used to buy season passes to the Fair and go every Friday and on a lot of weekends! The Fair is HUGE and filled with scrumptious, delicious, deep-fried goodies. (For our Massachusetts readers, the State Fair of Texas is like the Big E if the Big E was on a super dose of steroids.)

This is Big Tex. He towers over Fair Park greeting all the visitors at the Fair!

This is just an example of the ridiculously amazing fried food that the Fair has to offer. (Also, we may or may not have had someone sample this).

Anyway, the Fair is our tradition. We love the Fair and probably can't live without it. (Well, that may be a fib, but you get what I'm getting at.) 😉 So, this year Seth and I traveled to Dallas to visit with Seth's sister, Abey and her new baby girl as well as with Seth's mom, Nina and step-father, Bill. First on the agenda? The State Fair of Texas!

AT THE FAIR!! YAYAYAYAY!
Big Tex may have photobombed our group photo!
This is, in fact, a genuine Texas Longhorn!
Abey, Shana, and Seth cheesin' at the Fair!
Everything is BIG in Dallas! (And yes, those letters are made out of corn dogs!)
Baby Chevy Rose getting to dip her toes into the warm spa with help from Nana Nina!
Everyone loves amazingly carved pumpkins!
Theme of our Fair day? Photobombs! This one courtesy of Nina!
While everyone went to test drive cars and trucks, Seth and I hung out with our itty bitty niece. She was completely content chewing on her green straw and avoiding her pacifier!
There was also a car show and it was pretty difficult to peel Seth away from this new toy; a Chevy Bolt. Electric cars anyone?
Laser light show at the end of the night!
The end of the night! Chevy Rose was incredibly interested in my necklace!

The State Fair of Texas was not the only thing that we did during our short trip! We also went and got our wedding rings professionally cleaned. 💗 Because after three years, they get icky.
All shiny and (kinda) new!

We also were able to meet up with some friends for a short while! In addition to that, we were able to even catch a Dallas Stars hockey game!
YAY! Also, can you say, AWESOME seats???!!
We're good at this cheesin' thing!
STARS WIN!! The Reunion Tower Ball was glowing green and white to honor the Stars win over the Carolina Hurricanes!
In the end, our short trip was amazing! It was a bit sad to have to come back, but we are so happy that we were able to make a quick trip!

As always, if you have any questions about our journey, let us know!! We'd love to talk to you about it! ...and thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for still following along with our crazy adventures!

All of our love,
Shana and Seth

I'm so happy my humans are back!!
