We're Ready for Our Closeup

Happy weekend everyone!

We hope you are all well and staying warm with this recent cool weather we've been having. It's been such a great warm(er) day today - seeing that we hit temperatures in the 50s! 😆

Between holidays and building our new profile with Lifetime Adoptions, we have been incredibly busy this past month!

So, let's start with Christmas and New Years.

This year our good friends Andrew and Kathy flew up from Texas to brave the cold weather with us and to spend some time during the week of Christmas exploring all that Southeast Pennsylvania has to offer. From Chocolate World, to Amish farmlands, to the streets of Philadelphia we left no stones unturned. Speaking of stones, we even braved Laurel Hill Cemetery, a historic cemetery in Philly, during the bitter cold streak to experience what real cold feels like. 😁 While we were there, we may have found some Hogg relatives - or not. But it was still pretty neat to experience the area.

Kathy made this! She's incredibly talented!!

Relatives?

What trip to PA doesn't include Hershey's Chocolate? 😍 We ventured out to Chocolate World and we got to experience how Hershey's Chocolate is made by taking a ride on a peanut butter cup turned cart and listening to some very knowledgeable dairy cows.

They had beautiful singing voices. 😂

What's great about Chocolate World is that it's essentially the biggest Hershey's candy store ever! So, we got to have a little fun!

This was a piggy bank. I did not consume gallons of chocolate.

Our trip to Center City Philadelphia was incredibly fun! We explored Reading Terminal Market (for our MA readers - think Faneuil Hall but a bit bigger).

We took in some other Christmas-y sights at Philadelphia City Hall and Dilworth Plaza.

Did we mention that it was cold?

We essentially walked a ton of miles around the city in the cold and we explored whatever that we could! We took the Philly Phlash (a tourist-y bus line) to see some sights that were a bit farther out than we could get to considering how cold we were! 😎

This was an old bank turned museum of sorts. Essentially, it was a great place for a funny photo-op

Fitting all four of us in the shot was a bit of a difficulty throughout the visit. 😆

The Philadelphia area has the second largest mall in the US. This mall is located in King of Prussia and you can bet that we went and explored it as little mall rats for a day!

This is Andrew and I hanging out in a Tesla Model S. No big deal or anything. 😎

Proof we were there. 😀

Andrew and Kathy flew back to Texas on New Years Eve. Shana and I lounged around the house until midnight. I even had to wake her up for the countdown! We spent New Years Day with the PA Hogg family in Gap at Uncle Jeff and Aunt Cindy's house. We played some games and had a white elephant gift exchange. It was a great time!

During this time, we finalized our paper profile as well as our online profile. We worked a lot on recording and editing a video for our online profile. After a lot of work and YouTubing how to actually use Adobe correctly, we think our profile video is pretty awesome.

That's the long version of our video. However, we had to shorten it up a bit to fit into the time constraints for our online profile and so that we would have material for our audio message to birthmothers on our online profile. We would love if you could check out our newly updated online profile on Lifetime Adoptions page!

As always, we both truly appreciate all of your support throughout this time. It really helps us when the process can get very lonely and sad. The holiday's weren't easy because we really had been praying that we'd be matched by now. But, if anything, this whole rollercoaster ride has made us even stronger as a team. We are so excited to see what 2018 has in store for us. Hopefully, Baby Hogg!

All of our love! 💜
Seth and Shana
