Happy Halloween!

Good evening everyone!

We hope you were able to enjoy a nice Halloween eve with your friends and family if you celebrate.

We were fortunate to have amazing weather here, low 60's and a beautiful sunset. This year with all my free time since finishing the patio, I decided to really expand our digital effects use in our Halloween display this year. Also, learning new skills like these really helps with patience during the adoption wait.

Rosalind ready to test the pumpkins and start handing out candy
The pumpkins digitally carved into talking figures at night. We loved the fun songs and simple humor set up in these videos and this proved to be a great addition to our side yard as people walked around the house to end up at our treat table in the driveway.

For the front of the house, we closed off the main entrance to direct the flow of trick-or-treaters to the side driveway of the house. To grab attention of passersby, we had our trio of ghosts out front singing songs and telling stories.

We kept things simple this year for costumes as a farmer and a scarecrow!

This classic from 1984 by Rockwell turned out to be one of the favorite videos I edited for the garage. I loved being able to use the living eyes to accompany the video.

Another 80's classic, Beetlejuice.

All in all, the decorations were well received. There were more than a few kids so enamored with the garage video clips (also including Nightmare Before Christmas, Thriller, Werewolves of London, Coco, Hocus Pocus, and Ghostbusters) they didn't want to keep moving on for more candy.

It's so much fun seeing all the kids from the neighborhood enjoying a great evening out. We're so thankful for where we live and more importantly for the great people around us. So many fantastic houses for the kids including an amazing pirate display across the street from us. We are very excited for a time when we can bring our kids along for the fun and have their input in planning the decorations.

Thank you to everyone following along with our journey. We appreciate your support and your help in getting the word out about our lives through sharing these stories with your friends and families. Also thanks to everyone who stopped by tonight to talk about the decorations and make some slime, it was great seeing you all.

All our love,
Seth and Shana
