We just finished up a nice dinner with friends and I wanted to write about the last few weeks here.
First, as a continuation of our patio project, we put the finishing touches on the refresh of the indoor area with a nice paint job, new lighting, new wood accents and gate, and new fans.
Shana's ability to pick a group of colors that work so well together always amazes me.

Updates completed!
Shana and I were able to take some time a few weeks ago to visit her favorite vegan pizza place in their new North Liberties location after meeting up with an old college friend of Shana's for coffee during his visit down from New York City.

Today, Shana and I woke up early and braved the chilly, drizzly weather to head out to a local farm for a fall 5K run. This run even provided the option for you to complete the race while carrying a pumpkin to earn an extra medal. The rain this week made the course extra challenging due to all the mud however.

Watching the families participating in the event was such a joy. We are excited to one day be able to bring children with us to challenge themselves and end up caked in mud. Post race we waited a bit to let the mud dry while we enjoyed some apple cider and picked out a few pumpkins to bring home to keep the ones we carried during the race company.
Shana may have been wiser to pick the 4lb pumpkin to carry, but decorating with my 11lb beast will be better
Finally, Halloween is now only a few weeks away so I'm busy working on getting things ready to create a memorable experience for the trick or treaters in the neighborhood.
